^^ Possible, but unlikely. It seriously looked like a cookie cutter shark bite, only tiny; a perfect circular gauge .5" diameter and almost as deep. The tank has been setup now for only a little over a month but all of the current residents were together in a 75 gallon for 2 years before this current setup was in place and their hierarchy is exactly the same.

Well hopefully thinks settle themselves & you can get back to enjoying that amazing tank of yours.
All the replies have been good just let me add to it. Bloat, fin rot, sores, & bulging eyes(notice how the eye is slightly out from the body) are symptoms of a bacterial infection. Because you have lost fish, I would medicate- I have never had good luck with med. you used. I would use Pond Melafix(it goes further) & you will have to treat for 7 days or longer. If you want a faster med. & cost isn't an issue Erythromycin should work as well. It may have all started from an injury-stress-compromised immune system=disease, but its not Malawi Bloat.
