To get great red color feed color enhancing pellets which you're probably already doing. Also, you can add some red plastic plants or red rocks which will reflect just enough red to highlight your fishes color without having the picture look like its filtered red. How about you add a flowerhorn in the tank for a bit of personality? Awesome tank and fish, thanks for sharing!

Good point on the red stone and what not Simon. I use red sand along with some pieces of red slate in my tanks and it tends to bring out the reds in my fish quite a bit. I do also use a combination of white and red lighting. Here's a pic of my unfaded red Texas with mixed light the red sand and slate and the next is him in a bare bottom tank with the same lighting.

I love the short body Red Texas. I was thinking about picking up a few to use in my breeding programs. Beautiful fish!
