They may reach 30 cm (12 in) in length, although exceptional cases of up to 38 cm have been recorded

from wiki?????

so im lost on how a 30 gal is big enough for these guys

Correct me if Im wrong, but that is the zebra mantis, the largest mantis and a spearer, which I do not plan on keeping. The peacock only reaches about 8 inches, which I was told by you guys on this forum, so....

you can never regret getting a mantis!

Mantis shrimp are very cool... a 3 thumbs up for a 20 gallon species tank... PS, don't trust wiki...

My school has a 20 gallon limit too, but I'm pushing 200 at this point. Nobody has ever given me a problem for it!
Haha they go to see ur room see the amazing tank and there like hell i cant tell on u for it looking this sweet

a place close by that i would highly reccomend is
http://www.tampabaysaltwater.com/
they are very good with service and quality of what is shipped.
If you dont see what you want you can ask if they can get it.
and since you are in FL it would be easier to aquire.
Good luck in the SW hobby

Blue zoo has stuff cheap and ships fairly fast for a decent price and has amazing packaging...

i'd say 30 gallon min for peacocks
they're very active and need the space
an 8 inch animal can't live in a 20 gallon
thicker glass is preferred for peacocks too

Could u keep 2 mantis shrimp in a 20 gallon?
(Peacock) If i give them plenty of hiding places?

im getting a mantis for my 12gal nano cube and moving the fish from my 12gal into my 20gal

mantis are soo cool
