Marble Gar??

anne, this is not a gar?? do u know what it is, it resembles a juvie gar, and only takes live foods>.....

do they look like gars at adult size?? i think they get about 12'' alot smaller than a real gar, but do u think they are alot like gars?
 
Um..... I'm pretty sure thats a juvenile Spotted Gar (aka Florida Gar). I used to have 2 of them. They like live foods such as guppies and sometimes ghost shrimp.

I think it was mislabeled.....

Because it isn't a gar there are no gars found naturally occuring in south america.Heres a list of the true gar species

note three fish all have different common names but in fact are the same species-Anne
 
bdawg364 is wrong that is not a spotted gar or a florida gar it is a marbled gar(Boulengerella maculata) which is not a gar at all just looks like one.

Whatever, don't hate on my guessing...... looks JUST like the 2 I had.
 
oh so its a diff kinda fish, can someone gimmi some info on em? like there species and stuff
