and if you buy the coarse sponge you can go longer without maintenance it won't trap fine particles tho
I have a few ML 350b and i use sponges with media bags full of ceramic rings on top of the sponges. Works well for me, but I would absolutely ditch the cartridges, just not all at once. Don’t want to crash the systemHello,
I'm getting a couple of Marineland-Penguin 350. There are 4 slots for media/filters and it comes with only 2 floss type cartridges. It also has 2 bio wheels. This leaves 2 slots empty. What would you put in the empty slots. Please give me some ideas. Thanks?
I stack one of each in each slot, I found that fluval 304 sponges fit pretty good, so I put one on the bottom on each side with the media bags on top. I used plastic bio balls but I found they float and push the top open, the rings work much betterHi J Joshuakahan ,
Thanks for the input. Are you stacking the sponges and medium bags on top of each other or in seperate slots. Also, why should I ditch my cartridges? I'm also about to cycle my tank from scratch.
They’re pretty cheap on ebay, i use the black sponge, it’s not a perfect fit, but it worksHey Joshuakahan,
I see how you're doing it now. I'm going to look for those Fluval 304 sponges.
?Looks like it's worth a try. I'll check Ebay out.
Thanks again.
