Sounds like you have plenty of filtration but don't let the Earthworms stay in the aquarium to die that may jeopardize your water quality.

yes mate it’s totally overkill really, however I had these things laying about and I thought it would be a waste to utilise things, good point on leaving the worms in there!

Look at it this way you will have a filter seeded to jump start another aquarium.

Hi guys thought I would give you an update, so, whilst waiting for the live black worms I tried cut up earthworms which was successful, well happy!
