With the stuff this guy has up for sale in the classifieds - it's fairly obvious he's an importer and knows what he's talking about.

There is a big difference between reading and gaining knowledge through the internet, and having real life knowledge from working with the animals.
Dont talk with me about real life knowlege:irked: in fact I would rater have less in hands knowlege and go to bed clear minded then having to cope with some of the memories I have about past mistakes:( As it happens I lossed 5 turtles with just the same problem Im advising here about, including a 16 year old male chinese softy I really liked, by simply feeding him sardines :nilly: and others by just feeding MEAT :nilly:untill they were sacied something complety normal with just any other turtle you can think of, only to come home and find them dead and the other turtles completly fine and already begging for more, shame on me. Now I have a very strick protocol in feeding these turtles and my porpouse its to avoid others to have to go true what I had

Heh. Coura has forgotten more then most of the members here know.

It's fairly obvious you don't know who you are talking about.

I may have read it wrong, but it seemed like blacksocks was insinuating that Coura has no real life experience, and that Coura has learned things from reading on the internet.

I was responding by saying that Coura has forgotten more things then most people here know, and that blacksocks doesn't know who he is talking about....

But then again, I may have read it wrong.

I didn't mean to direct that last part of the statement at Coura.

I just see a lot of people on here regurgitating stuff they've simply read, instead of giving real life instances where they have come across these problems.

I have never met a person who has lost a mata mata turtle to deep waters - even more alarming is that most people who say not to keep them in deep waters have not had this happen to them, nor know anyone who has...

That's where it came from - misinformation can be a big determent to the hobbyist, I've done all sorts of things that people advise against with fish and had plenty of success.

I've also kept mata mata's in 4 feet of water with no problems.

I stand corrected....I interpreted the statement wrong the first time.

My apologies. :)
