What's the story? How long you had it? Food? Size?

bought it last week, 22 centimeter,gave frozen worm & pellet but mine its really quiet,can stay in the same place for a day, how about yours?

typical, doradidae are very peaceful and calm, usually swimming around only at night and when the food goes in...
 
It may be the angle of your pic but he looks on a thin side. If so, keep an eye that he gets enough food, there is competition after all.

Mine relished pellets of all kinds. Fish/seafood pieces were also accepted. They are not fussy at all. They are much like vacuum cleaners and will suck in everything edible. They may hold the meaty foods too long in their mouths shuffling it back and forth, back and forth while the tank mates devour the food, so that way, they may end up with less food than desired.

I've had my Irwini around 4 years now and he is around 24"(got him at 5") he reached this size around a year ago....we cal him Dyson after the vacuum cleaner because thats what he is sucking up any food that gets past the Aro and Bass....

Wow, nice one. Thanks for the pics and the growth info, Scarysdad. There must be a lot the bass and the aro miss, unless the fish is gravid... :) :)

When did (s)he lose one eye?

In case you missed it above, my 3' Oxydoras niger's name is Hoover. Also after a vacuum cleaner. :):)
