Anyone doing anything special for their fish today? I'm going to give them all a water change when I get back home tonight from my family event.

Unfortunately, things are still going downhill for me. My pond is experiencing a massive algae bloom due to the newly set-up filtration system, and I just lost my 1-foot arowana. absolutely stumped about it.

I'm sorry to hear that. I hope there is something good that you could look at today to put a positive spin on things. Try not to focus too much on the negative things but pass them by as quickly as you can. Looking too much at the negative can have a paralysing effect and will eventually lead to being unable to see any good at all.

AR1 remember things could be worse for you .As crap as they are at the moment it osunds like it was worse a few weeks ago.
What foods do you guys eat to celebrate Xmas? AR1 , you can start. Whats on the table in your part of the world?

"Christmas beef" is a big thing here. At Christmas time people here look forward to buying fresh beef from one of the local farmers who like to slaughter around this time. The meat is leaner and tougher (needs to be cooked longer) but much more flavorful. The meat is made into a stew "Cayman Style Beef" but it is not so good as steaks.
Turtle stew is also very popular. IMO this is so good when made the local way.

at my house on Christmas Eve we have a big dinner with salmon, pierogies, mushroom soup and a few more things I’m probably forgetttinng.

Do you have eastern european background? It souns very similar to my wifes ukranian family except they have pickled herring instead of salmon and cabbage rolls too.
