Anything new going on with this build?

Sadly not recently...just got a raise at work so that should get things rollin again. This is coral season...and i now work in the coral industry so its been crazy busy there and on the home front. I take care of 40 tanks at work around 4kgal and 10 tanks at home pushin 5kgal so time for extra projects is slim lately. Headed down to orlando florida for "Reefapalooza" nextweek. Driving a 20' van full of tanks,coral and saltwater all the way from ohio lol... sure wish it was the MFK convention but ATM from "tanked" will be a couple booths away from the one im working so thats a plus....and i get paid atleast. The coral idustry may pay my bills...but my own hoard is full of freshies that need this 3k done....in time my friends, thanks for staying tuned so long.

Throwback...anyone at reefapalooza keep an eye out for me wearin my stripes lol...

Back to my question, then: how about using a round chamber, rotational inflow for centrifugal forces to aid settlement? Has anybody used/tried?

I like the idea and would certainly incorporate it if starting again. Mean time, I'm happy with how my settling chamber sump works for catching the sawdust my Panaques produce.

i wish guys lol... my 1400gal sprung a leak (pump guard poked through my liner) sooo i had to break out a 10' pool again in the 3k's resting place ... almost done repairing the 1400 so i can move all 20 fish back to their tank and resume the 3k build... rethinking some things on this 3k also and kinda weighing my options for a sealant. i may line the tank with polypropolene and not worry about my fish chewing through liner or equipment poking holes... and as always not enough money to finish this bad boy sadly... been a busy year with my new job but i gotta get er done... in time my friends , the hobby seems to be dying down lately and i gotta keep it goin. its nice to see more liner tanks poppin up these days and nothin gives me more motivation than seeing a couple "protege" tanks running with my methods ....

I have read all 73 pages over 2 days, really enjoyed it and like the steel frame. Would love to see it finished.

Im still around lol... and in dire need to finish the build at this point for one of my catfish. Been procrastaniting for far too long now. Im in between getting married and running a family buisness, aswell as keeping track of the other 16 setups i have running in house a.t.m.... One of these days ill get back on track, hunker down, and get this bad boy finished before its too late. Ive finally decieded on lining it with full fiberglass/resin. Ive put up a 1100 gal. "tester tank" with pondliner/window and it failed after a year of catfish wearing on the liner and or teeth getting through so i want to do it right this time and have it last 25+ years. The funds for the correct materials i need have set me back more than anything at this point. Slowly been setting money aside lately and trying to get myself motivated again. Can't wait to get it going/finished.
