Well since he is banned i guess i'll try to answer for him. I believed he uses an umbrella net along with a few traps. Look for his DIY threads, i think there are a couple nets and traps among them.

I live in south fla and it's so easy to get exotics from the little lakes and canals around here. You can even pick up 15 - 20 inch koi in some places. Plecos are common, but not native, and they average 12 - 15 inches. My friend's daughter caught a 15 inch rb pacu in her lake. So the possibilities are endless. lol
