Ive been thinkin of goin native. I would love to have a native bullhead feed from my hand and Ive done the Amazon and Southeast Asian biotope theme to death. I dont know why Ive never tried afew natives being that I live by 2rivers.

Hi it depends what kind of natives u talking about. Yellow bullheads are not that small. For smaller tank u could use stonecat or madtom. Ooh 75 i would say is the min (not sure douh)

I was lookin into a 72bow for trade and didnt think t would be enough for bullhead & either pumpkinseeds or yellow perch. I was gonna skip bass & save the girth space for the catfish to grow. The reason Im tryin to cram native bullhead in as small a tank as humane is I only have about 3'-4' of wall space. I have be able to open the door, maybe I need more walls

You could do a 90 wide, Pumpkinseeds would be perfect mates as long as you put in driftwood hiding spots (Bullheads love to have hiding spots). You can find out more, if you link this to the Coldwater fish section or on the NANFA (North American Native Fish Association) forum where they have many native experts.

I can tell you as an owner of a brown bullhead at 12 inches that lives in a 75 gallon breeder, it is not sufficient enough. Even though my catfish looks comfortable and moves with speed and agility with ease, he needs more room. I will advise that you do not feed fish to your group, I believe that it encourages the catfish to actively hunt your other fish. Minimum tank would be a 125 gallon but even bigger is best.

Here are two videos showing this catfish, watch in HD:

Rays your Bullhead has really grown....very nice looking, if you could find another Bullhead of the opposite sex and similar pattern they would make really cool fry if you bred them.
