Well back in the day I would get them from petland for my flowerhorn but I haven't feed my Oscar any minnows yet, he's only like 5in mostly fed pellets,shrimps,bloodworms,clams,mealworms and frozen fish.

Frozen or pellets are always better nutrition and safer than feeders, however I do get hundreds of rosy minnows and treat them for about a week and load them with food and feed my ray as a treat and it's awesome to watch her hunt them. Ey definitely aren't a staple or even a meal, but I think they are ok.

That was my point in my other post...He really does not have to bother with the minnows since the oscar is already eating other good foods.
That's what I wanna see also is my Oscar hunting for his food not just come up every time and peck at pellets. Like I said before I threw in some cichlid fry and there way to fast for him so he only catches them at night and I wanna see the action of him catching and chomping....sick minded? Not really.I remember when I had my two albinos and the rosey reds would seem to always outrun them but they'd eventually catch them.
Lol just dropped a small frog with the Oscar and he did a houdini, rite into his mouth..

Have you tried earthworms yet?Mine loved them.
I'm gonna have to pick some up, but I think I spoiled him alittle to much with live and frozen foods now he looks at the pellets I just got him today as if there not worth it.
I hate to use the word starve but I think I'm gonna have to let him wait till Friday to eat then I'll give him the pellets.
if your gonna feed live, avoid goldfish and minnows. they carry an enzyme that can cause vitamin deficiencies. go for mollies or something else tropical and quarintene for at least two weeks to make sure they arent carrying any parasites.
