View attachment 1258827 View attachment 1258828 I have mollies outside and in from 15 gallons to 55 and my inside tanks are 82* and outside in the winter 82f and in the summer can get to 85f but I usually add ice packs after 83f and they breed like crazy, my 55 is totally over stocked, trying to find someone to take young ones regularly, so far no luck. I am seriously surprised I don't loose fish, but I have 2 bio-tanks, a double bio sponge and I keep it very oxygenated and have to uv lights attached to my filters.

Tbh I'm jelly of that. Never had my molly fry survive that well haha! To get rid of them you should list them on craigslist. People will take them as pets and feeders. If you know anyone with a primarily predatory fish that's your best bet.

On topic, none of my mollies have ever seemed to do well in temps below about 76. Maybe it's the hybrid strains. Hmmm.

Its all about getting the right location variant, as said by moontanman, if you get the Carolina variant, no problem, if the ones available are endemic to the Yucatan they will probably not survive the drastic temp fluctuations.
Just as with sunfish, there are Lepomis species species from Florida, and Lepomis in Wisconsin, most Florida variants wouldn't last the beginning few weeks of winter in Wisconsin.
My mollies also live in a very acid tank my ph is bellow 60
