Monster 16-Pound Bass Caught in California

Lol look at my username, I'm in Minnesota and the ice is still 2-3 feet thick. But we didn't have good numbers of salmon and they could be found in Great Lakes only.

As for the largemouth bass, I felt that they're not enough challenged for me and they attacks on any lures I throw at. Smallmouth put up a big fight than a largemouth.
my fishing buddy says the same thing about bass....he says they're stupid and will hit anything, but man....bass fishing is full of action. catching one fish after another is my favorite part of fishing

When I went up the Browns were just ending their run and the salmon hadn't started. But when my friend went up during what was usually the height of the run for a week he averaged less than a fish a day when he drove around all day and fished wherever he heard that anyone had caught a fish.

There was some speculation that since the fish were stocked in the open lake four years ago that they wouldn't run up and they'd stay in the lake.

I heard another theory that since the zebra mussels filter the water so clear the salmon would only go up at night so that they wouldn't have to be exposed to sunlight. I think that theory is a load of bs but it is a theory.

One thing I noticed was that even the charters weren't catching fish at any depth. As well as the only fish running were decript old males that looked older than the fish we typically catch.

Btw, back in October here in central Florida we had a 14 lb 15 oz pulled from lake Pickett.

and i heard today from a friend that works on a local golf course that a 15 lb bass was caught, waiting on pics. She was released because she was full of eggs. Only 24 inches long and a massive 20" girth

She was released. Having a discussion on FB, everyone seems to think its PS.
Somethting does look fishy about the guy's hand that is holding the jaw of the bass and the way that the gills look.

Just as I tell everyone, it's just the perspective of the photo.
I thought of that but when I zoom in on the photo I notice what looks like an outline around the top of the fish's head which makes it look out of place, and where is the man's fingers on his right hand...if the photo is correct it would appear that his fingers are dug into the underside of the fish's mouth.

Trust me, its the real deal. Look at his Instagram, he has a video of the fish, how he is holding it, etc. and you can see how his fingers are positioned. He has many other big bass on his page that you can only see a few fingers.

If you are convinced AND he has video of the fish then that is good enough for me...I just thought that those things that I pointed out beared questioning.
