Unfortunately Bubba didn't make it. I found him this morning. He must have gone overnight or in the wee hours. Didn't even last long enough for the other medicine to get here. So I'm at the point where whatever happens, happens. I've had no luck at all treating this disease. Everyone else in the 125 got pellets this morning and seems to be perfectly fine.

Bubba looked nearly normal. Unlike his brothers he didn't have the white patches/messed up skin, eyes, and scales. He did have slightly tatty fins and the mouth issue but to a lesser degree. I 100% believe now that by the time you see that mouth, forget it. Can't see it coming and by the time you do, it's over.

Nothing new going on with the fish room right now (it's all about the Benjamins). Hope to have some progress by the end of the year. Babies in the growout are huge now and a safe size to go. I plan to keep one or two from Tigger/Blackbeard and one or two from Neet/Sharky. The fry from Sharky/Neet are taking off in growth but are still far too small.

If I have time this weekend I might assemble the other metal stand.

Sorry to hear. Fwiw it’s a rough disease, successful treatment seems more like luck than anything else.
I have a kribensis that’s been showing some inflamed lips and I’m really hoping it’s just lip lock damage…

I can only wish you luck. I've had absolutely none. My experience has been white puffy/scabby lips combined with shredded looking fins, then pimples/scales/skin peel and/or popeye then flip over. I'm developing a theory as to what's going on that I'll share later.

Found this really nice site called fish laboratories. Some of the most accurate and sane information I've ever seen. Check out this entry on Oscars and the reference to their size DEPENDING ON CONDITIONS. Never seen this approach on a website before! They have a whole library of cichlids. Just search on what you want then click the link embedded in the text. I might be going here to check out a few species.
I DO disagree abotu the minimum tank size and w/c schedule, seems to contradict all the other good information. Use your own common sense...

It's been awhile, so I figured some pics are in order.

BP Kong gets in a mood to move things some days. Here she is, fanning over the sand after a meal. Sometimes she'll clear a space down to the glass doing this.
