i agree. i do like peacock moss though.
 
if star moss isn't possible..
what do you guys think of weeping moss.
I think that would make an amazing wall.

whats the best way to get it to grow to the point I can use it as a background in a 55 gallon tank..
thats alot of moss...

Mosses generally do better with lower temps and a good amount of flow. Of course good lighting, CO2, and ferts will also speed things up.

On a 55 you may want to tilt your background back a little so that the moss on the bottom doesn't get shaded too much by the moss on the top.
 
I don't know if star moss is fully aquatic. There's still a lot of people that say it isn't. I'm tempted to buy some just to find out.
