Most Humane way to Euthanize an Oscar?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
A strong stomach she doesn't have. This Oscar has survied three moves and has been around for two (and a half now) Deployments of my BIL. Kinda sucks that he is passing on. She's already lost the oldest Lab this winter. Been a real rough deployment for her. I do appreciate the humane suggestions. And with my twisted sense of humor I enjoy the others as well. Won't be trying them though.....or suggesting them to her.

sorry for your loss, i as well would like to know how to use the clove oil???

It depends on your stomach if you have a stomach for it a really big rock to the head is the quickest. But like I said you have to have a stomach for it not something everyone can do.

what i do is i put the head between the grabbing part of a plier underwater then just do it

Nothing humane about any of those. Maybe you should run a concentration camp

Oscars can live 30 years, atleast over 10 in an aquarium. You should see what she was feeding him or what type of water he was in. He still has ATLEAST 4 years. I don't think he's dieing of old age if anything.

Just over-dose with clove oil, so whatever it says to do, do it twice as much!
It puts the fish into a coma.. then it passes away peacefully.

Just make sure you actually need to kill this Oscar!!! If it can be saved, save it!!

For some reason, it never occurred to me this is euthanasia. Sorry about that. Thanks for replying on this, Lisa. It would not have occurred to me again what I was thinking earlier. Sedation...euthanasia...I had done sedation and it wasn't exactly comforting since clove oil can kill if overdosed indeed.
