Moving large sheets of glass

A properly braced 2x4 frame would be just as sturdy as a truck bed. But all in all, go with what you feel comfortable.

ok, just paid for it, will try and organize the pickup for next weekend! $164.90...not too bad for a 400 gallon.

I decided the best and safest way to move it will be in on piece. I was at the store today and noticed (not sure how I missed this before) it is sitting on a pallet that fits it perfectly. Just load that into a truck and it should be good to move into the back of my house. Then I can just tear it down in my backyard on nice soft grass at my pace, as opposed to in a hot concrete alley full of wasps in an afternoon.

Im sure you've measured already, but will it fit going into your basement?? Just curious lol. The houses around here would have some sharp corners that a 10ft tank would not go around..

I was able to easily navigate a 130" piece of wood all the way down without much problem, and the glass will only be about 120", so it should work out. There is a sharp turn halfway down the stairs, but there is also a bedroom on the landing, and I can walk it into the bedroom, then back out down the rest of the stairs.
