I'm looking to add a mixing valve to my drip system setup. The city water gets kind of cold in the winter and I can't drip quite as much as I want. I'm looking to mix in some hot water from my water heater before it hits my filters and go in the tank.

What kind of valves you got and how well do they work?

I use drip systems and valves always need fiddling with. The flow rate always varies over time.

For finer control, I now use a gate valve in line with a needle valve.

I do not know how this would work mixing hot and cold.

I use a gate valve to control the flow of the cold water going into the tank but I'd appreciate mixing a little hot water to raise the temp of the drip.

I was looking at either a thermostatic mixing valve or a plain shower valve. I'm looking for people's input on what works best for them in that application

When I lived in WI water from the tap was often 39'F (5'C)
This was why is always added to the sump first, and kept heaters in the sump, or put in-line heaters on the line from sump to tank.

Did you end up installing mixing valve?
