I like to make nice things with the left over. something that will last for years and is passed down though family and friends.. Wood is special to me..
An idea for some of your wood (see pic).

I made the plans using 1/4 ply for a template. It's easy to build and the kids go mad.

Your wood working skills are unsurmatched. I bet you could actually make these for a profit and have a pretty good demand for them.

I actually got the go-ahead from the wife to build my tank based of this thread. Of cource i would never be able to build somthing like yours and it didnt even come close to the one you made, but never the less, it was what helped me convince and push her to allowing my build to happen. so thank you.

i must add, that when mine was completed, she said: "that doesnt look like the one you told me you could make" too late now... hehehe

Nice Joey.!! Glad This thread helped her decision. I'm sure it will look awesome.

Don't ever underestimate your skills.. We all have creativity in us. and we can all accomplish anything we want if we put our minds to it..

Hey at least you get to build a tank.. Some peoples girls on here are making them put their tanks in the closet. lol

No, thank you! Your structural design is just what I was looking for.

The rocking horse would look really cool with some exotic wood (lucky you). I did a version in Mahogany, and it came out really nice.

The only trick in the project is to use a 2x6 cut in a V shape (inverted, with the saddle sitting on the cut-off-V. That "spreads" the sides and allows the rounded base to rock very smoothly. I also changed the head & tail design several times.
