My Amphilophus Sagittae journal

Well, sad news to report today, friends. I had to put Casper down tonight.

I don't have much to say about it. Still kind of in shock. He was getting older and had definitely been slowing down so it wasn't necessarily unexpected, but that doesn't mean it didn't suck. He got to the point where he was obviously suffering and there wasn't much more that could be done.

I like to think we gave him a good three years as part of our family. We'll miss him greeting us in the morning and watching TV with us at night.

He'll always have a special place in my heart...

Seems that left Jexnell speechless. You gave that fish the best possible conditions and he looked well kept. Its a shame but stuff happens….sorry for your loss.

Casper lived an extraordinary life. From Jeff Rapps tanks to mine to Jake's. Had a wife and 5 spawns with her, two that ended up at the Wet Spot, so he had prodigy all over America most likely. He lived nearly 7 years. Got to torment all kinds of fish during them years. For a while he had 17 of the first 20 pictures on Google when you looked up Saggitae

He will never be forgotten

Really sorry to hear that, I’m sure we all know how it feels. At least you all gave him the best possible life he could. Great fish with a great personality and in many ways reminded me of my Butti. Thanks Jexnell and others for sharing his life with us! He’s swimming in fish heaven right now. SIP legend.

Oops kinda sounds like my previous post was only acknowledging Jexnell’s loss. I meant that both of you did a great job caring for this fish and am sorry for the both of you losing Casper
