3 days ago I got a baby arowana from my LFS. He lost his yolk sometime last week. He won't eat, and his BMs are clear. The owner at LFS told me none of them really ate anything at the store. I tried FD bloodworms, Frozen blood worms, cut up crickets and beefhheat flake. I would hate to have him die....ph 7.0 temp 79f soft water tank mates are small peaceful he is in a grow out tank. Nitrates 15 Ammonia 0.5 thanks for any ideas

Thanks for the input I think he just wasn't eating at first three days ago I put freeze dried blood worms silversides cut up crickets. He would put the blood worms or the silver side or the cricket in his mouth and then spit it out. But in the past two days he's gotten better he likes the freeze dried blood worms better than the frozen ones. So he is eating now more this morning than he did yesterday I haven't seen him take a poop yet that wasn't clear but I'm sure today he will. If you have any other tips of things that they eat let me know what about very small floating carnivore pallets ? I have a lot of different types of fish and three different tanks so if I buy something and she won't eat it someone in another tank will. Thanks for getting back to me

I've actually never seen my arowana poop and I've had it for 11 months

Aros that size if your having problems feeding like live brine shrimp, live bloodworms But if it's eating frozen pretty well now, you should be in the clear

hi , what temp do you keep your water at ? i think nice warm temps is good i like to keep my aros at around 82
I've had her at 79 on my heater right now the temp reads at 80.

I'll buy some live brine today thanks! Didn't even cross my mind. She loves going after crickets I put in for her tank mate my African butterfly but it's way to big for her to try..if I cut it up though. She tries to eat the white inside but hates that it's not moving around. She likes the hunt. Fortunately small things like freeze dried blood worms move nicely with the current from the air stone and filter so there still a bit of a Chase. But Brine! wow great suggestion
