My bushynose pleco just laid eggs... What do I do? HELP !

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wouldnt say they wouldnt eat any of them. I've never seen them do it, they usually have quite a bit of babies so I'm sure there may be a casualty or two. Best thing to do is just observe and make the best judgement. U will need to move them in time, so I would have at least a 10gal on the side with a sponge filter when u can move them. I'm sure u know but just dont add anything to the tank that may consider them a nice treat.

how big are your pleco when they breed?
Sorry I could not reply to your question earlier, my computer was down for a few days. I got all my pleco, 5 of them, while they were just 1.5 inches long. I got them about a year ago. I have three left now. one male and 2 female. They are about three inches long.
This is the first time they had babies.

I think I have about 10+ babies in there. the male is still guarding them. Once a day, I would drop a small piece of algae wafer in front of the "male" he seems to enjoy it. also, I use the turkey baster to squirt some "first bite" to the babies. All babies look just like the parents, so cute, but I think I saw one "albino" (pink), interesting...
