I always skipped over this thread cause I thought "ah....shop light." then today I realized it was from you and so I looked.

You oughta paint that thing. That would look real sharp.

your light stand made me think of another way of doing it! take a 4 or 5" pipe, cut it in half, and mount the ugly shop fixture inside it. that way all you see is a half tube sitting on top of your tank. you could paint it to match your tank.

the pipe actually matches the light good.
paint the pipe then the light might need painted.

it might make alot of shadows tho

You could also put a piece of rebar in the pipe for a little better rigidity.
