You could take a fine gravel and put it on the exposed, still wet silicone to hide the sealant. Might make it more natural looking too.

Good idea, interested to see how it came out.

That is pretty cool! Be nice to see some fish using it once you get it in the tank. I think I will like to attempt this down the road.

Since you say it was a little flimsy I think it you would have constructed it on a base that would have firmed it up a ton. I think using either a full bottom made of plexiglass or just a couple of strips to connect the sides together. Just something to help the sides never move in or out, especially if you decide to make a larger one. Just a thought anyway.

you can make them small too. :D
my next one will be gravel, but still big.
might make a few small ones to if i like this one. :D
right i know i forgot to put that in. i think it would be to hard to do it with gravel cause you would probably get alot of glue on the cardboard.(maybe the next one could be made with sand:hitting: :grinno: )
i agree with boisblancboy, i think that you should make sure that the rocks dont collapse and kill your fish.

Since making one out of gravel was mentioned (i agree with Razman it will be a pain) I have seen structures made out of crushed coral and concrete mix. My friend did it and it came out great. Just thought I would throw that in. Obviosly that looks more natural in SW tanks, depends on the look your going for.
