My Feelings on Leporinus Fasciatus (A Rant)

I have not met a really skittish leporinus species yet. The L. ortomaculatus are skittish if tank gets changed around. Then within in a week or two they back at it.

What the tankmates? Only time I have had shy leps is when there is bullying going on.

Mine have started hiding away all the time, is it like CL they need 6 or more?

They are more active in schools, but that doesn’t stop my single one from making patrols. It could be threatened by tankmates (though I don’t know if they are capable of fear), or it found a territory it really likes that is well hidden. Even at 9-10 inches mine can still disappear.

one of my favorite fish ever is Leporinus f. I had a 7" that never grew too much more maybe to around 9" max, Super peaceful and really just a gorgeous and super cool fish!
