My first ray!

Nice ray, if you keep her on dark substrate for too long she will darken up and lose her lovely markings.

+1…. White actually shows marbles best… or a light blue. Carib sea torpedo beach makes em color up nicely.

good to know! this is her grow out and the bottom is black. the black diamond is just what i had on hand to give her sand. i've been trying to get a hold of garnet sand but the cheapest i can get it here is $100/40lb and that's just not worth it.

This is way cheaper. Thanks!

I was always black on black on black until i kept marbles… they make u change sadly lol. The torpedo beach is a great substrate tho despite it being almost white. Its a pretty heavy grain almost like smooth crushed gravel more so than sand. Rays can churn it over and it stays clean. Dont need much either. It will not enter the water column or stick to their disc either.

appreciate it! i was worried about it being too big grain-wise but now it makes sense. I've got 20lbs set aside at my lfs already for her current tank. Picking it up as soon as my new light comes in. and they said they'll order however much i want for the 600.
