Turns out he has drop eye, white spot, face boils and we were told it was floating because of a kidney problem.

Sooo, thanks guys? .... i think i'll stick to pleco and pebbles from now on.

drop eye isn't fatal, white spot doesn't appear that quickly and those aren't just boils. He probably had a swim bladder issue from a secondary infection.

it was a tragic incident. from the initial stage of suspected physical change, it must applied a medicine on that earlier time. based on the screenshot provided, i can see the cause was the gills change rapidly and seems to be the cause of his death.
