My flower horn has recently been not eating food properly

Those flowerhorn foods are usually garbage so that could be a problem.. usually too high of protein In them and lots of fillers

Any good suggestions and brands of food?

My preference
1. NLS or northfin any
2. Hikari bio gold plus
3. Omega one cichlid pellets

I personally don't use the last 2, but if you can't get or if Northfin or NLS are too costly then go for next 2.

Take your fish off of both of those foods. They are junk. The food that Ruturaj has listed are great foods. I use those and I really like Fluval Bug Bites. All my flowerhorn shake in the water when I pull the bag out. They get so excited for Bug Bites.

I used to feed bug bites to my tropical tank, it worked pretty good for them. Northfin also makes a bug formula, I am thinking about trying it out. Bug bites is using potato and pea in it, so not sure about using it for flowerhorn, should be good as treat though.

Yeah I only use the bug bites as a treat. Not a daily diet. My flowerhorns are now back to eating steamed Blue Claw crab very regularly now because we had such a mild winter that I'm already catching a ton of crabs. My fish go nuts for crab!!! I haven't found any Kelp yet on my journeys. So for now its steamed crab and pellets.
