if you find an old 12 speed bike you have a lot of gear ratios to work with to find the best one for your plan .

keep up the work , love it all :headbang2:headbang2

Read through your entire thread very nice setup. One suggestion i can make to lower your friction loss is through bearings on the pulley shaft, instead of metal just rubbing on metal.

That's a good idea.

I've talked today with a mechanic guy and is going to try to find a bigger wheel.

:)Today I went to Severum1 's Greenhouse.

All the tanks, as well as the lakes, function perfectly well using the method Severum1 stated...

The amount of water plants and their healthy aspect is simply amazing, as is the color and well being of the several species of fish he has in there, be they american cichlids, be they african, be they killis, be they whatever. Their colors, which could be seen when the sun shone, as well as their eagerness to feed is ample proof that the system works.

I have not seen one piece of electrically driven equipment. I have not seen any gadget on which we MFKers spend buckets of money.

One word describes what I have seen: BALANCE. Perfect balance.

Still love this project. I have not come back to view the updates in some time so I was glad to see things are still moving along.

I like the idea of that motor from the scooter, but I would second the suggestion on gearing. With the right setup you could get a wind prop to spin very freely and rotate the motor a lot of times to get a great ratio. Basically use the same setup you did for testing on in between you would have a gear box with a gear change inside to make the proper ratio and away you go. You could find out the exact draw you need and set up to gears to achieve that with the minimal work from the wind mill. Very cool...

How is the heating system working?
