You see them frequently in my neck of the woods (UK) often in the sumps. Usually 12"+ but safe to say there'll be a few closing in on 2ft if you visit a few shops. I year or so ago there was six or seven piled up in one of the koi vats at a Maidenhead near me all above 2ft with one far larger albeit not a marble.

The regular ones get quite large indeed. They are invasive here, and i have seen them grow up to 2.5 feet in the wild. But like you, i have never seen a wild marbled one.
