My Gulper Catfish - Asterophysus batrachus

Glad they're eating for you. Funny that I found this thread because I was thinking about getting a couple for my home aquarium and I also plan to buy them from Wetspot. I've been trying to get rid of my wife's 3 goldfish for over a year and this would be fun to have. I plan to order them from Wetspot as well. They have 5"ers right now so I'll get those and a couple more polys for my office aquarium.
Well these would be great at getting rid of any unwanted fish! lol

I would highly recommend these guys, they're very cool fish and each has a very distinct personality. Though if you're the kind of fishkeeper that wants their fish active all the time, then these aren't for you. Once they settled into the tank, they picked out a piece of driftwood and spend most of the day hiding underneath it. But I still get to see them a lot when I turn on the night light in the tank, one of those dim blue led's. I get a few good hours of viewing every night, where they just wiggle against the powerhead. So if you end up getting them I'd recommend setting up a hiding spot that you can see into and using a blue night light.

Mine squeeze themselves between large rocks and the front window, so I always see them.

I noticed that they swim a lot only if I give them their 240 gal entirely. Otherwise, with a divider, they swim 10x-100x less.

That works great for me because I won't see them until I get off work at night. They'll nap when I'm away and play when I'm there. Thanks for the info. Super cool fish.

Observed this again. I've no clue how they know the divider is gone and then come out to swim around and play.
