I need some opinions as well..
Im thinking about putting the bichirs in the new 125 with my severums..
but i think that 40 long looks good for them..
Idk..thoughts..ideas...concerns..something?
Would also like to do some real plants in the 40 long as well.

40g looks real good, I think the Polys are fine in there for now. Looks like plenty of room.
As for real plants, my 2 Polys have been with real plants forever and don't bother them at all. Just make sure you get some beefy plants, nothing small as mine like to swim through the plants and rest on/in them. I have a rather large Amazon sword on one side of my 75g that they are both fond of, so I would suggest that.

im lovin the ornate, wish LFS around here would carry them. what kind of sand do you use for the ray tank?

Its 0 grade pool filter sand..i got from a lfs.

cool thanks, ive been thinking about getting a ray and was unsure about which sand to use. the guy at my LFS said i could just get kids play sand, but that doesnt seem right.

The sand i have is working out fine..it doesn't stick to her or irritate her.
