This is from a pretty famous brazillian monster fish keeper, seems pretty fine to handfeed as long as they are used to it. These are 10" sardines he's feeding.
That's a tiny tank for such big fish. Are they okay like that?

Not ideal but they really aren't active all that much at that size. During the dry season they can survive in less water than that in the wild too. There was a rover monsters episode where he lassos them out of a puddle.

J J. H. I'm not really sure if that's ideal, I myself would put a fully grown one in any less than a 300 gallon. Their care requirements are actually more similar to lungfish than anything else.
