post a pic up in the gar forum so you quit having that up in the air :D. it's a gator, though.

a fully grown gator gar would need a larger tank than an RTC if that says enough...
plus they are notorious for killing other fish.

How many thousands of gallons and what size/temperament would tank mates need to be? is this Arapaima territory?

I am not sure exactly as I've never looked into it, but I would say it's prob comparable to a piracuru in that aspect. If you want more info, look in the gar section. Tankmates have to be large and robust like big cats and things like that.

here's a great thread to see the difference between F/S and gator. scroll down until you see 4 pix...first two are F/S and last 2 are of a gator (more pix down farther in the thread, too)

Hey it aint funny:irked:;)
I guess a fully grown one would need a 50,000G pluss!
I cant come up with that sort of aquarium. I may have to get rid of him then.
Anyone? lol

If i get the right property and can build a 25,000 in it in the next few years and you still have it then yes! (don't hold your breath tho thanks to some git deciding to have a nice little global recession. My plans have had to change!) What's their growth rate?

Well when you get a 25,000G tank dont forget my invite.
I doubt i will have it in a few years if it plans on getting 8ft long and killing all my fish, i think they slow right down after 2ft and take ages to get huge but still, if it trys to eat all my fish i wont be impressed.

Of course there'll be an invite, but you'll only get through the door if you have a gar with you to leave there!

What's he eating atm? plus got any better pictures of it yet?
