I AM CONSIDERING BUILDING AN INDOOR POND THIS SUMMER FOR SOME OF MY LARGER CATFISH-PROBABLY ABOUT A 1000 POND
I AM THINKING ABOUT USING A BOG FILTER FOR THIS PROJECT
ANY SUGGESTIONS WOULD BE GREAT
all im running for heat is 3 submersible 300 watts that are right under the skimmer so they have as much water flow as possible around them i will be insulating mine before i put on the external paneling. It is still a work in progress. Im in the process of piping with 2" pvc over to my floor drain to speed up the syphoning portion of my water changes. to anyone planning a build i strongly encourage a bottom drain and having the pond built up on 4x4's running parallel underneath.
Update: i came across a good deal on a 6' 150gal tank. So the plan is to remove the bottom section of the pond, turn my 90 gal into a sump. Have the pond and the 150 fall into the 90 sump and pump up to the 150 and to the existing filter on the pond. You can never have too much filter
Gutted man. I just read this. That sucks way bad...... I was just wondering the other day how he was doing.
Shibby happens though. I lost a RTGG the EXACT same way when I first moved to my current place. Trapped itself under a milk crate that was holding up my filter.
the saddest thing about it was that he (clown knife) was doing soo good with the 12" ck i picked up. no aggression whatsoever. whiskers is doing good and i have the gar in the 90 until i get the 150 addition done then it will be in the 150 with my arowana.
Your entire system looks great. I have a general question about indoor ponds. What kind of moisture issues do you have to worry about having that inside? I have a 1200 sf basement and would love to do something like this.
I was wondering if I could have a few more pictures of the filter? I love this idea and might be doing something similar for a quarantine pond outside.
for moisture i have it in a room about 3x the size of the pond and i have a large dehumidifier running on high 24/7.
as far as the filter im about to turn my 90 into a sump and add it into the system with a 150 gallon tank on a stand above it. so i will be posting lots and lots of pics in the setup filtration forum and here in the near future.
