and the mum is a regular looking red devil

Holy hybrid infested tank, Batman!

If this is 100% true, it is safe to say we finally have an answer as to what the mix is to make bp's...Not RD x Sev....Or anything...It's apparently RD x Syn...I feel like a stone has been turned here...Top job....

mate i can tell you for a fact its all true. i dont have a pic of the mum as she was killed by a jag but we all know what a rd looks like, the synspillum in the pic is the father. some have a so called normal shaped head and some with the real blood parrot head, even have a few with dorsal fin only on top of there head and not there back so it looks like a moh hawk (i do know its a deformity tho)

i think one more cross from a selected female breed back to his father will give as a great result..a truly blood parrot...hows dat?..:nilly:

I believe you....bs'ers don't stay around as long as you have:) I truly commend you on your successful project...Some of those are lights out. I would buy one in a heartbeat....

thanks mate, ill be sure to post pics when there bigger. they already try to pair off in the tank but with some many in there it doesnt last long, i am growing up two smaller synspilum's to try to breed back. should i even try with a red devil again? the mind boggles
