Nano fish/ shrimp tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Females will molt when they are ready to breed or after a water change.
Thank you! Some seemed to have molt the night after I got them so I assume that’s normal. Is there anything I should add in the tank to help with molting or should I leave as is right now? I have read adding a cuttlefish bone can help with calcium levels but unsure since they seem to have molted fine. I just want to make sure because I don’t want to add anything to the tank if they are doing fine without it

Is your PH around 6-6.5. My KH is 3.5dKH that puts my PH around 6.8-7.0 and I have my PH controller on the CO2 set for 6.7 at the moment, my water was a little harder last year, now it’s softer.

You can add KH generator crystals, or add some buffering rocks, crushed coral in the filter. Add a little test in a week, add a bit more etc until you get a stabilised increase. Don’t add all at once or the shrimp will die.
