I need to build some sort of cover for my 150 tall. The footprint of the tank is 24X48 minus about 2 inches of rim around the top. I can't find any lids or glass covers online that would fit.

Has anyone built their own lids?
Or does anyone have ideas on what would be best, I want to make sure no one jumps out and don't want to lose too much water to evaporation.

Post your builds or ideas.

Thanks

well i was thinking about that for a 90 gallon with no lid my idea would be since it has a center brace is to buy a lid from a glass company that is solid for one side and for the other side would be to get it in two pieces and add some kind of hinge to the split.

Yea I was thinking of doing something like that, just wasn't sure if anyone had existing setups, or examples of what worked for them. Right now I'm just covering it with 2 plexiglass sheets.

I plan to make a hood at some point in the near future.

so you have a centerbrace?

What would be the dimensions of the actual hood? Or what are the dimensions of the plexiglass you're using now?

You could order one or two of THESE & cut them to size, then get yourself 4 pieces of glass sized to fit with the hinges then get THESE for handles.

Voila...

The centerbrace is actually broken right in the middle from the previous owner, I have plans to either remove and replace it, or glue it back together. I'll have to measure the exact dimensions later tonight of the 2 open spaces.

I've never posted pics so i need to figure that out.
