Hey Guys,

The tank I currently have is a 3 foot 55G. (Aqua One AR980).
The tank contains:
*1M1F Multi's and about 30-40 fry ranging from 0.5cm - 2cm.
*2X Caudopunctactus, about 4.5cm.
*1X Small Pleco, 4cm.
*Breeding Pair of Juli' Transciptus and about 15 fry ranging from 0.5 - 3cm.

A mate of mine has Tretocephalus fry available and I would like to know if I could put 1 or 2 in my tank? The Tret/s would be about 3 - 4.5cm.

The above site has this posted:
"They may be kept in a Tanganyikan community with shelldwellers and Synodontis species, but only as juveniles; before adulthood they must be transferred to a separate tank."

Anyone had any experience keeping Tret's with Shelldwellers??

EDIT:
Here's a few lousy photo's of the 55G.

What should I change about my tank to maybe make it possible to keep a Tret' or two in it.

Cheers,
Craig.

Sorry photo's didn't work in the first post.

I kept one for about 10 years, had shellies, julies, calvs ect. 240 gal tank, no problems
big beautiful fish.
When my tank overheated and killed ALL of my very old WC fish I remember that was the fish I held in my hand in total disgust

I have a juvinile in my 125 with rock dwellers and shellies also, and he does fine not to aggressive at all. very cool looking fish his fins seem to glow. I had a large one about 4 inches in my peacock tank and he also got along just fine. I dont know about when hes a full adult with smaller fish though. hope this helps a little, but I think he would be a good addition

We have 3 of them 1juv and 2 adults the juv was in with some peacocks and ruled the roost they seem to be a very bossy fish give others a good place to hide. Also if you ever think of getting another they will fight unless you can get oppisite sex ones and have heard they are very difficult to sex. They are very pretty fish though we hope to get a breeding pair as around hear there are not to many of them look like a small front with attitude.
