New 300Gallon Arowana Comm Tank :)

It runs that high so the overflow of the auto drip can run out into my drain. In the event of a power failure i have the dorso standpipes to prevent over drainage aswell as an emergency overflow in the sump. I am using air stones in the ceramic rings and bio balls for added O2 but with the 2" drain pipes and that monster pump i doubt it needs it :)

I hear you and yet it works. I was just wondering because it seems like you have it set up more as a sump and less of a wet dry but with the air stones I guess it works the same way!

good looking tank! but wont 7 aros be to much for a 300?
Ohh probably..... But its been done many times before and 10 years later still working well with asians anyways, The silvers are in there to curb aggression till i get my super reds and Xbacks...... They would get WAY too big for a 300 but the asians should be fine. That being said this is my starter comm tank anyways till i get the guts to do a plywood build..... Or i knock out a main wall for a tenekor acrylic 800 gallon witch ever comes first :)

i choose to knock out a wall for a 800! LOL, anyways yea that should work for a few months to maybe a year and a half or somthing like that lol. not really familier with aros so ya.

Had to do an Update :)
Down to 6 arowanas in this tank now

You could always just sell a couple when that time comes too... Bet you could make some really decent money for good size arowana that are obviously well taken care of. And then use that money to upgrade anyway! :headbang2

thats such an awsome tank. but i bet that sand wont stay that perfect color for long. soo many fish!
