;)just caught some nice gills yesterday and one survivor this morning. this is my dead lmb, gill, and pleco this morning. the gills were about 5". not sure what went wrong. damn i hate this part of the hobby.:(

pleco's are really hard to kill, something must be really wrong with your tank.
sorry about your lost bro.

thats exactly what i was thinking. but my albino channel, other new bluegill, three crawdads, and two small feeder bluegill seem to be fine. well the albino channel and bluegill seemed to be struggling to breathe so i moved them into my 55.

might want to change your gravel to pool filter sand.

i actually have 80%playsand and 20% gravel. ive noticed the playsand, when kicked up takes a while to get back down.

they could have been coughing up sand that went into their gills? And maybe the channel cat stayed in a corned w/ not much kicked up sand? Just thinking

You do realize it is illegal in the state of California to transport live fish from the waterways, right?

not unless it's a privet pond.

i do get all my natives from two private ponds my buddy has on property and another in a private community. also have been guilty of allowing my son to keep some he catches else where but, how can i deny him learning hands-on.
