Beautiful! That is something that I would pay $200 bucks for, in store.

One thing, I would have used either clear or black silicone! It would look a lot better because the white stuff distracts me from the artistry of the piece.

Once again, amazing work and wonderful tank, I love the look (although I would have gone with play sand and a few floating plants, just because I think it looks a little more natural) and great great great job!
Thanks. the silicone is clear, i just put it on very thick and now it doesnt look so clear in the pics. I also did start with white sand, but it seemed far too bright. I wanted to try black sand out,, but i do agree that a more natural coloured sand may look alot better.

Another thing, I think that a huge pair of altum's angelfish would finish that tank off..
Angels would look great in this tank as well. But i think once my rotkeils grow out, they'll look just as nice.

great work,
is that thing sturdy, i mean if my 12'' oscar swam into it full blast would it hold up?
Thanks! yes, the background is very sturdy. Like a hard plastic. I would really have to hit it hard to break it. But even then, i think that would only crack it. I dont think a fish could do any damage at all to it.

sweet background... i never thought of fiberglass... but man that looks awesome!!
I never thought of fibreglass either, until i did alot of research on molds and that sort of thing. I did alot of reading befor i settled on fibreglass.

Hiding the filter and having it run out of the back of the background was a good idea. I didnt want to have to drill the background, but i ended up doing it once the background was installed. At first i had the return hoses comming over top of the background, but i didnt like the look of that, so the holes were drilled instead.

very nice job man! i might your idea in the future as i work on my own tank/pond
thanks alot. This would also work great as a water fall for a pond if its out door. If not, then how about a tree above the pond with its roots extending into the pond? i'd love to do somthing like that. with branches and leaves.... the whole tree, with just the roots going into the pond.
