Congrats I picked up one around the same time. What temp do you keep it at?
89+ and mine took some training to do hahaha
Keep me posted mine is currently at 75 but I want to bump it up to 79 permanently so I can get a fly river turtle. Reading mixed reviews on temps seems its case by case. Mine out eats everything in the tank with it look at how fat his stomach is. I have that phantom in that cage because I know he would eat it. It’s incredible what they can swallow
Yeah I heard they like lower tempt but mine is doing great in the temperature that I set. Super active and eats like a champ after a whole 2 months of being on feeders. My tank heater is set to 90-91 to prevent any diseases, helps them get thicker with massivores/shrimp. I do believe they don't have a limit on eating as I would watch out for that. My guy can keep eating while being full as hell so I notice that......while my other fish gets full and stops (not showing anymore interest in massivores/shrimps) overall this guy is my favorite in the tank

I think the heat increases their appetite. The Higher I go the more relentless he is. The only reason why other fish in the tank get to eat is because he is so picky. So I put what he likes in the tank last.
