Zebra, Yoyo, Skunk, Angeliscus (dont know how to spell it, but its something along ghose lines) and you could try some of the bigger loaches like Clowns or Redtails, it will be a while before they outgrow the tank.
Good decision to avoid Tiger Barbs. They sleep in a head-down position, so if the JD was hungry at night he coukd grab at least one before the could reorientate and get away. Giant Danios and Silver Dollars are a good decision. Ive heard hood things about Bueno Aires tetras and Swordtails, but i havent tried those.
