So I picked up 4 of these guys and my two Armatus already ate one and killed another so I am down to these two. I tried starving them for a week and tried feeding frozen with no luck. They won't eat anything else except for live so what gives as I read they are garbage cans or easy fish to get off live but it's not working for me as of yet. There is training fish in the tank so maybe I will have to try different training fish like tinfoils. I tried frozen krill but haven't tried the freeze dried yet. What works for the other odoe owners?

I panicked just like you lol I picked up a tinfoil and when I dropped in tilapia the tinfoil would grab it and let go and pick at it over and over then the odoe would go over and snatch it up. When after awhile I started feeding only pellets and he caught on but it took longer... Good luck with yours they are GREAT fish

I found them to be on of the easiest to get off live food. Dried krill floating around the top, when they are hungry, they will go for it

It took my first one 3 days to start on tilapia but the other 3 I picked up later were more stubborn. It took them roughly 7 days. Stick with it and they should come around.

They look pretty full in these pictures. I would just start starving now with the tinfoils as teacher fish.

Those are some solid Odoe, I'm liking the stripes on the tails already. My buddy fed his odoe some guppys I had bred first day, just a week later he was taking sinking and floating pellet, he had teacher fish too. Just toss some pellet in once they get hungry they'll go for it. He didn't use freeze dried at all

i got my odoe on pellets no problem at all. best teacher fish i found was a flagtail who kind of sucks at the pellets and puts on an eating display right infront of the odoe. he caught on within a couple days no problem at all. nice lookin fish tho good luck!

Well the 4 tinfoils didn't work as my two Armatus ate them in 3 days time. LOL They were 2.5" long so I guess that's what I get. Well one of the odoe's ate frozen smelt as you can see from his belly. Quite the set of chompers on him too!
