That's funny, you dug up old thread man! My first DIY post on MFK. It looks funky now that I read it again, don't know what I was thinkin:duh:

This tank got turned into a BN pleco breeder and the skips went into a divided acrylic tank with live mangroves. Don't bother with that box, it didn't work out well for what I intended but it was a fun project to learn about mudskippers though. I am lucky I never crashed the tank from any dead zones in that deep of sand bed considering how much they dug around.

so where's the pics of the new tank? :naughty:

Sure I'll throw out a couple updates, but they are old though... Just for kicks, why not. I don't have the set up anymore but it was fun too. I went allot less sand this time around used floating turtle docks. The skips LOVE those docks. This way I could keep more water volume in the tank.

The stand, 2x4's built to hold two 55 gallon tanks:

The divider. As they got bigger they faught allot. Hooked it up to a reverse UGF powerhead setup to preasurize the divider. Water flows from the top and adds a little movement/aerates the water. The powerhead helped with mech on that side.

that looks a bit more sophisticated. i dig it

Yeah like I said the skips are long gone and the tank is empty now but I plan on plumbing it to the sump (around the corner from my 225) to grow out those mangroves and as many plants as I can stuff in there, not show tank style more like "show me the nitrates" style. Should be interesting. I want those mangroves big and bushy so this will be my chance to learn to prune them etc...
