Picked this pair up earlier on today, a male and female I think, the larger (male?)has the red tail and yellow fins with a black spot behind the gills and the smaller (female?) has red tail and fins apart from the adipose fin which is yellow and red spots along the body. Or is one Yellow Fin and the other Pink Tail?

They both have pink noses, i'm guessing it is where they have bashed into stuff at the LFS? Hopefully this will heal?

They are in a 72x18x20 with 2 Oscars, 5 Silver Dollars a Fire Eel and a Pictus Cat, they have been spooked a couple of times by the Oscars getting too curious and hit the glass but have been ok apart from that. Are they ok to keep with Oscars?

Sorry about all the questions, just want to do my best by these cool fish! :headbang2

One is Chalceus macrolepidotus, the smaller one is Chalceus epakros.

Looks like someone has hotlinked something from my photobucket account again. :(

Here are the pics again:

I kept a group of epakros for quite a while, but needed the tank for more piranha ^^

1 question, as i keep 4 erythrurus 2gether...
are yours skittish & get scared easily?
if i approach my tank without extreme caution, they dash & bang all over the tank

I had the same issue with my 5 epakros, that was another reason I had to get rid of them.
