1 question, as i keep 4 erythrurus 2gether...
are yours skittish & get scared easily?
if i approach my tank without extreme caution, they dash & bang all over the tank
They don't seem too bothered by me, when I stand by the tank to feed them they just watch me but if the Oscars start checking them out they dart all over the place and into the glass. I have put a divider in for now to let the Oscars get used to them being about so the curiosity wears off and hopefully there will be calm when I take the divider out.

Fingers crossed!

I've had 2 Red Tails for 2 years now - their both 8" and still as spooky as day 1, the only consilation with these guys are they are great dither fish for my brycon. The brycon chases and nips the chalceus and leaves the cudas, dats, and payara alone.
Other than that I'd get rid of them - not that anyone probably even wants them.
Just be careful with smaller fish, Chalceus are sneaky carnivores that don't swallow whole - they chew.

Little update, they are both getting along fine a little bit of sneaking up and chasing every so often but no biting or nipping and they eat like pigs!!
